About the Role

We are now looking for a Junior Business Controller to join FirstVet’s finance team.

In this role, you will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis across the company. You will work closely with the finance team and stakeholders across the organisation to turn data into insights that support better decision-making.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys working with data, building financial models, and understanding what drives business performance. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and gain exposure to both financial reporting and commercial decision-making.

Your work will help management understand business performance and support strategic decision-making across the company.

Your Responsibilities

• Drive the budgeting and forecasting processes

• Build and maintain financial models in Excel to support analysis and decision-making

• Analyse business performance and help identify trends, risks, and opportunities

• Work with different teams across the organisation to analyse performance and support decision-making

• Prepare management reporting and contribute to quarterly shareholder reporting

• Perform ad hoc analyses to answer business questions and support strategic decisions

• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure data accuracy and financial alignment

• Continuously improve financial models, reporting, and internal tools
  

Desired qualifications

• University degree in finance, economics, business administration, or similar

• Strong Excel skills and interest in building financial models

• 0–2 years of experience in an analytical role or consulting environment

• Curious mindset and strong interest in understanding how businesses operate

• Structured and detail-oriented way of working

• Comfortable working with data and translating analysis into clear insights

• Understanding of financial statements and accounting principles

• Self-driven with a strong willingness to learn

Nice to have

• Experience with Abacum, Tableau, or similar tools

• Experience from tech companies, scale-ups, or e-commerce
